As a member of a national consulting marketing team, the Business Applications Marketing Manager develops and implements strategic marketing programs designed to achieve line-of-business growth goals across the United States. This role will also have oversight over the strategic marketing plan and associated programs and campaigns, national budget, program ROI, as well as provide strategic direction for regional and local program development and application in support of business growth goals.

Working under the direction of the Technology and Management Consulting (TMC) director the Marketing Manager performs the following:

  • Develop relationships with assigned industry and TMC functional teams to lead development and implementation of strategic marketing plans to accomplish growth goals, increase market share and enhance brand awareness with target markets
  • Develop, launch and manage a national strategic marketing plan in support of the TMC line of business
  • Recommend ideas for improving overall marketing effectiveness and efficiency
  • Help ensure brand consistency in assigned TMC line of business, core markets and practice locations

Specific job duties

  • Work with functional team to develop annual marketing plans focused on ERP and CRM for SMB, middle market and enterprise companies
  • Develop go to market approaches that account for such alliance partners as Microsoft, NetSuite and Intacct
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Application service line leaders to align marketing programs, campaigns and results with business goals.
  • Work collaboratively with sales and sales leadership to ensure that marketing programs/leads have appropriate follow up to drive measureable results.
  • Implement tactics outlined in marketing plan for assigned function. Tactics could include media relations, case studies, product literature, tradeshows, seminars, workshops, ads, direct mail and lead generation campaigns, content development for a variety of uses, etc.
  • Execute on consulting digital marketing plan for functional area to include social media, blogging, PPC advertising, SEO, etc.
  • Assure ROI tracking on various marketing tactics outlined in functional plans
  • Conduct market research as needed for functional area
  • Align growth objectives and marketing investments to select industry sectors where TMC solutions and services are strategically viable
  • Serve as a senior member of the  National Consulting Marketing team
  • Assist with internal communications
  • Assist with developing business unit market assessment
  • Partner with inside sales and business development team as an extension of marketing program plans


  • Requires a college degree in marketing, communications or related field or equivalent education
  • A minimum of 10  years of marketing or related area experience
  • Project and program management experience beneficial
  • Technology product and services marketing experience and background required
    Experience in the ERP and CRM product marketing area a plus
  • Experience managing marketing with and through third-party vendor alliances a plus
  • Experience working within a virtual team, and working independently in a national or large scale capacity a plus
  • Professional services marketing experience a plus

  • Effectively prioritizes workload and escalates issues to ensure continuity in quality of service

Business Growth

  • Demonstrated and sustained ability to increase awareness of assigned functions and/or services to meet business growth objectives
  • Works with TMC Marketing Director to ensure established growth targets are achieved
  • Actively develops marketing strategies for expanded and new service opportunities in assigned areas


  • A minimum of 10 years experience within in marketing
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing in a professional services firm
  • Demonstrates knowledge of effective marketing strategies in the professional services environment
  • Understanding and knowledge of marketing technology services within the accounting and consulting industry
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Good writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong ability to work virtually
