The Senior Director of Talent Acquisition will play a key role by creating and implementing a bold, strategic and progressive talent acquisition strategy, with full executive buy-in and participation, to ensure that RSM recruits talent with the skills and capabilities to take the firm into the future. This role requires building and scaling talent acquisition teams across multiple locations and areas of specialty, as well as enhancing internal processes and systems, leveraging market insight to drive the employer brand, and partnering closely with senior leadership to plan and execute innovative organizational growth strategies.

Responsibilities Include:

Set strategy, current and future goals for all aspects of talent acquisition

  • Lead and grow the talent acquisition team while improving capability and delivering on hiring needs across the firm
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders across the firm in order to understand talent trends, business needs, business direction and business strategy in order to deliver solutions that support positive business results
  • Partner with HR and business leaders in the identification and prioritization of current and future talent needs, and the deployment of a recruiting strategy to support
  • Manage and influence line of business and functional leaders to ensure overall business objectives are met and the resources necessary to recruit talent are acquired
  • Regularly assess future talent needs and partner with business and finance to ensure appropriate budgeting is in place to support recruiting demand
  • Leverage analytical and operational capabilities across strategy formulation, business planning and implementation of key priorities for the talent needs of the business

Responsibilities as team leader and career advisor

  • Collaborate with TA leadership across talent acquisition to define and execute the direction and evolution of the overall talent acquisition function
  • Sets the tone to ensure TA team is committed to balancing high volume without compromising quality of candidates presented
  • Delegates effectively to other team members to ensure completion of work
  • Knowledgeable of relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies and sets a high standard for self and team to ensure compliance
  • Serves as a career advisor and provides effective leadership to employees and/or teams through: communicating performance expectations, providing real-time feedback performance, recognition, coaching, creating career growth opportunities and employee development plans
  • Mentors/coaches team members outside of immediate team through feedback, career opportunity discussions, and actively listening to employees

Establish and maintain market and industry expertise

  • Knowledgeable of market recruiting trends and implements new and innovative recruiting techniques
  • Achieve strategic and operational goals for the organization across all aspect of talent acquisition including the development of models and methodologies to support future trends and business growth
  • Support the implementation of process improvements and continue to optimize the use of existing and new processes, tools and vendor relationships to ensure the function is delivering strong business impact and driving results     

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 10 years of direct talent acquisition/recruiting experience
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive management and leadership experience
  • Expertise in building strong consultative partnerships across a matrixed environment
  • Strong communication skills; clearly conveys information in writing and verbally. Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the firm
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to motivate and develop individuals and teams to collaborate and deliver to their highest potential
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in a virtual environment to arrive at the desired outcomes using enterprise leadership skills
  • Skilled at using effective listening, probing and investigatory skills to handle complex, sensitive escalated inquiries and conversations with discretion, composure and compassion
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of industry and partnership model
  • Demonstrates current working knowledge of federal, state, local regulations/laws and firm policies
  • Understand compensation materials and principles
  • Effective organization and time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks required
  • Demonstrated success in influencing and engaging stakeholders, building collaborative relationships while managing conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to respond positively to changing circumstances, seek and implement change to drive business improvement, and serve as a model of change
  • Previous professional services experience preferred
