The Agile Program/Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating agile project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering agile projects that provide exceptional business value to users. This role may be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects using agile methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple lines of business.

The Agile Program/Project Manager will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead and manage large, complex enterprise-level projects consisting of multiple Agile teams working within and Azure Cloud environment and/or requiring integration with other activities outside the scope of the Agile teams

  • Ensures the appropriate placement of people, process, and tools and coaching members of the team as needed to optimize the efficiency of the project team

  • Uses good judgment and skill to develop a project management approach that is suitable for planning and managing the effort to achieve the project goals within designated project constraints

  • Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to a rapidly growing company with an evolving business model.

  • Develop roadmap and implementation strategies in conjunction with the Sr. Director of Client Solutions and Azure Solution Architect to ensure we meet the business vision

  • Responsible for managing and reporting on the program and project budget(s) and change requests.

  • Ensure that the scope of the projects within the program align with business goals and objectives and are executed in order of business priorities

  • Ensures project objectives are in alignment with the project vision

  • Promote collaboration and coordination across broad categories of stakeholders

  • May act as SCRUM Master

  • Provide expertise in planning, execution, and leadership of projects

  • Provide program/project reporting and status to senior management

  • Collaborates with the Director of Program and Project Management to establish standard agile methods, tools, and templates where beneficial.

  • Collaborates with all other PMO Portfolio Directors or Program Managers to gain a high level understanding of all work, programs and projects currently being executed or in queue for execution to determine synergies, interdependencies and dependencies. 

  • Assists with issue resolution, and roadblock removal.

  • Ensures proper risk management is being executed at the program and project levels and that the risk strategy is being clearly communicated. Ensures program/project objectives are met and aligned with PMO operational and solution development lifecycle processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: 

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

 

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Microsoft project or similar project management software
  • Familiarity with VSTS and TFS
  • Understanding of the workings of an Azure Could environment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS TO JOB

 

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage strong communication skills to lead a department, function or group of individuals
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective program/project management policies & procedures.
  • Agile Project Management

EXPERIENCE

 

  • Proven experience leading agile teams
  • Waterfall to Agile transition
  • 8+ years IT project and/or program management experience
  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience

MANAGEMENT

 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a group of employees within a department or function
  • Demonstrated ability to support, effect, and implement change
  • Demonstrated ability to impact and influence a diverse population
  • Demonstrated ability to manage in a high matrix organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • CSM
  • Microsoft PPM
  • Experience in managing technology for an audit, tax, or financial practice

EDUCATION

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or computer related discipline), Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
