POSITION DESCRIPTION: : Prepare Tax returns and filings for corporate and individual clients ensuring accuracy and conformance with government and internal standards; Prepare detailed review and analysis of Tax returns and financial statements; Prepare all necessary financial statements and related disclosures and reportable conditions letters, with an eye on quality, thoroughness and accuracy; Advise clients with financial planning, addressing questions and concerns, and outlining tax options and strategies; Create professional reports to communicate analyses, findings, and recommendations in an effective manner; Utilize tax software to prepare forms and create tables of accounts and tax analysis templates.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s* degree in Finance or Accounting. Three years* experience as a Tax Accountant, Staff Accountant or related. Post bachelor’s experience (3 years with a masters or 5 years with a bachelors) is required and must include: Prepare Fiduciary Trust Returns (Form 1041, 8582, 8825,6781 and beneficiaries’ K-1s) and Trust Accounting Reports, with analysis of Trust Accounting Income and Distributable Net Income. Prepare Foreign Transaction tax returns and financial reports (FBAR, Form 3520, 926, 8865,1116, 5471 and Form 1040NR and corresponding Foreign Tax Credit Analysis). Analysis of Hedge Fund K-1 Analysis (incl. PTP Transactions, Passive/Non-passive Income, At-risk loss limitation and Domestic/Foreign Investment Income). Prepare and examine Partnership returns (incl. M1, M2, M3 schedule, partners’ K-1s) with special allocation based on partnership agreement. Utilizing Pro System, Checkpoint, W-2 1099 Filer and Adobe Acrobat Standard DC and using Excel spreadsheet to set up tax analysis template. * Must have CPA License. * Employer will accept a bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience in lieu of a master’s degree and 3 years experience.
